SAPS – is an integrated system of automated designing and technological preparation of hull yard manufactories based on local PC network. The system provides working designing of ship hull and engineering preparation of hull processing, assembling, welding and hull building manufactures of the yard. It allows to receive wide range of building, designing and technological documentation in graphical ant table forms, and also plating nesting of plating and profile and control programs for thermal cutting machines with numerical control.

Input information

Input information for the system is:

  • Documentation of classification (working) ship design.
  • Technological requirements of shipbuilding yard.
  • Performance standards, used for designing and building of ships.

Executed works

With the help of this system the following works are executed:

  • Development and release of working drawings for hull constructions and specifications to them.
  • Determination of shape and dimensions of all plating and profile details of ship hull construction.
  • Calculation of development views and bending tooling (templates, framing) for the plates of all non-flat hull ship surfaces (outer plating, upper deck etc.)
  • Description of details by loft sketches (drawings).
  • Automated plating cutting with release of plating nesting for automated guillotine and manual cutting.
  • Calculation of control programs for cutting of details from plating on thermal cutting machines with numerical control.
  • Release of plating nesting for manual cutting of profile.
  • Keeping of accounting sheets for used plating and profile.
  • Receipt of all required loft data for assembling and control over mounting of ship hull constructions.
  • Calculation of assembling tooling (template and coke jigs) with release of drawings for manufacturing and adjusting of assembling tooling, and also documentation for unit and section assembling.

Solving tasks

SAPS system is determined for solving the following tasks at complex automated release of building designing and loft ship hull documentation:

  • Forming of outlines surface by framing of sweeping lines.
  • Hull generation.
  • Seams, butts and mold lines tracing.
  • Model formation of inner ship hull construction.
  • Development of hull constructions working drawings and specifications to them.
  • Forming and keeping of “Hull” part of database which includes geometrical and designing model of ship hull.
  • Developed view of details of non-flat ship hull surfaces with calculation of required bending tooling.
  • Determination of shape and dimensions of plating and profile details.
  • Details description by loft sketches (drawings).
  • Forming of «Detail» part of database, which includes all plating and profile details of constructions and also data required for metal cutting.
  • Automated plating cutting.
  • Forming of «Nesting plating» part of database, which includes all plating nesting.
  • Data calculation for adjusting and manufacturing of production tooling for assembling and welding of hull construction.
  • Data calculation for unit and section assembling.
  • Development and release of loft - assembly drawings (sketches) on unit, section and jig assembling. The system is oriented on solving of abovementioned tasks for ships of any types and purposes.

Structure

With respect to its structure SAPS system is a program system with data bank consisted of 8 modules. SAPS system modules provide solving of the following system functional tasks:

  • Database keeping («Database»).
  • Surface geometrical constructions («2D Geometry»).
  • Space geometrical construction («3D Geometry»).
  • Forming of constructive hull model («Hull»).
  • Creation of detail drawings («Detail»).
  • Creation of hull sections working drawings («Drawing»).
  • Automated plate cutting («Cutting»).
  • Forming of working drawings specifications («Specification»).

Technical complex

For system operating personal computers, compatible with IBM-PC, with installed operational system of Microsoft company (98,Me,NT,2000,XP) are required. Computers can be connected in local network with public database for one or several ship designs. In this case one computer will operate as a server with control over public database.

Minimal PC configuration:

  • Processor Intel Pentium II 300 MHz.
  • Operative memory 64 Mb.
  • HDD 4Gb.
  • Disk drive 1,44 Mb.
  • Colour Monitor 17”.
  • Keyboard and mouse.
